BEACON - With volunteer manpower and organizational structure at its worst point in the history of the department, the City of Beacon elected to have a third party perform an audit and survey of the department. MMA Consulting Group of Boston, Massachusetts was contracted by the city for the purpose of evaluating the status of the department and finding ways to fix the numerous issues. Recently that survey was released and the city is now in the reviewing and planning process of how and if to implement its recommendations.
