BEACON, NY (15 March 2008) - Firefighters Joe Cucci and Dave Brewer received an award for their part in a CPR call on 15 March 2008. At 1912 hours on that date, the City of Beacon Fire Department along with Beacon Volunteer Ambulance and Alamo Paramedics were dispatched to a medical call. The units were dispatched for a reported male on the floor possibly not breathing. Engine 33-12 and Ladder Tower 33-45 arrived on the scene soon after to find a male in his early 40’s on the floor with no pulse. CPR was begun immediately and an AED was applied. A non-shockable rhythm was present and CPR was continued. The paramedic arrived shortly after to begin ALS interventions and subsequently the patient was transported by BVAC to St Lukes hospital where he survived for some time..
