NEWBURGH (12 Oct 06) - On Thursday night, Career Firefighters Romanelli and Joseph were awarded the St Luke's Hospital Lifesaver Award. The award was presented to the two members for their actions in providing rapid care to the Department Chief, Timothy Joseph, who suffered a severe heart attack while at one of the department's station houses. The two members, Beacon Volunteer Ambulance members, and the on duty Alamo EMS units assigned to Beacon, provided rapid CPR/ Defibrillation which was accredited to saving the chief's life.
